The Role
Our Remote Services team is at the heart of this work and were looking for a passionate people-focused leader to guide them. As Manager Remote Services youll do more than just manage operations youll mentor and inspire a team of Remote Coordinators to be their best ensuring that together we deliver safe effective and community-led services.
This role is all about community connection: building strong and trusted relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities listening deeply and tailoring our approach to reflect local needs and culture. At the same time youll bring a practical solutions-focused mindset helping your team navigate challenges make improvements and keep things moving without fuss.
One day you might be in the detail of logistics or equipment maintenance the next you could be supporting your team with complex community relationships or shaping strategies to grow our impact. Your ability to balance operational excellence with cultural awareness and a genuine respect for community voices will be key to helping Orange Sky positively connect more people across Australia.

In a nutshell this role will:
- Lead mentor and support a team of Remote Coordinators to deliver safe effective services aligned with Orange Skys mission.
- Build strong respectful relationships with First Nations communities ensuring services are community-led and culturally appropriate.
- Drive continuous improvementidentifying opportunities solving problems quickly and making improvements without fuss.
- Expand our reach by supporting new service launches and building partnerships that enable growth.
- Champion a data-driven approach to monitor performance impact and improvement.
- Oversee logistics maintenance and safety across all remote services.
- Provide coaching professional development and engagement opportunities to your team.
- Balance strategy with hands-on support ensuring both the big picture and the day-to-day run smoothly.

The applicant ideally has experience in a similar role within a fast-paced organisation ideally within the not-for-profit sector and working with diverse stakeholders. Orange Sky is committed to improving remote and Indigenous services and strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Additionally the ideal applicant has:
- At least 3 years leadership experience leading teams in program development operational support preferably in a not-for-profit organisation.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of principles of public health (highly desired).
- Demonstrated ability to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and their leaders respecting traditional culture values and ways of doing business.
- Demonstrated understanding of the health social and emotional wellbeing needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- A track record of enhancing processes through a proactive and growth-orientated mindset.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a highly diverse range of people and manage a large and diverse workforce.
- Strong written communication skills and proven problem-solving ability.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage complex and competing demands and meet deadlines.
- Ability to travel and work flexibly as required.
- Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- A proactive attitude resilience and a genuine passion for our cause.
