Job Description

Fleet Services is responsible for managing our universitys 1500 state vehicles which also includes a rental vehicle fleet of approximately 150 vehicles.
Wash Bay Attendants are responsible for cleaning Fleet Services rental vehicles to meet customer demand while maintaining established standards of cleanliness. This includes but is not limited to washing the exterior of vehicles vacuuming and cleaning the vehicle interiors and cleaning all windows. Must maintain established standards of cleanliness to meet daily customer demand. Occasionally requires supplying state vehicles with fuel/fluids reporting damage or repairs keeping records of issue. May also assist with light custodial duties and snow/frost removal from vehicles and parking lot.
Incumbents report to the Fleet Services Automotive Shop Manager and the hours of operation are Monday thru Friday 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The maximum number of hours per week will not exceed 30. Available work shifts will vary to meet business needs and the employees availability. Preference will be given to candidates who are available to work Mondays and Friday mornings.
Required Qualifications
Must have a valid drivers license and maintain a good driving record in order to operate state vehicles.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to operate fuel pumps.
Ability to interact professionally with customers and staff.
Ability to work with a variety of cleaning agents and be exposed to fumes chemicals and moderate levels of dust and/or noise.
Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks to meet required specifications.
Must be able to perform extended hours of physical activity including standing bending kneeling reaching and squatting.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous automotive detailing experience.
Previous experience performing routine vehicle maintenance.
Record-keeping experience.
Previous experience working with a large fleet of vehicles or in a university setting.
Customer service experience and functioning as part of a team.
