| Duties & Responsibilities | The VCU Department of Psychiatry is seeking to hire a Clinical Research Assistant for its Child and Adolescent Division.
Position Responsibilities: The Child and Adolescent Division of the Department of Psychiatry conducts research studies to help inform and treat child and adolescent mental health conditions. The Clinical Research Assistant is responsible for working on research studies in acompliant and efficient the supervision of the projectmanager and clinical research coordinator the incumbent will collaborate withall members of the research teams to ensure all federal state university andprotocol requirements are followed institutional research objectives are metand ethical obligations are kept. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Performs data collection and entry in compliance with HIPAAGCPs HAC FDA and sponsor required guidelines
- Conduct all assigned activities in compliance with nationallocal & institutional guidelines according to all HIPAA GCP and otherapplicable requirements
- Completes new study activation requirements screens/enrollsparticipants runs participant study visits regulatory and compliancerequirements maintains appropriate study documentation/records and managesstudy data
- Conducts clinical research activities as authorized by thePrincipal Investigators documented Delegation of Authority and Training Logs
- Maintains current CITI credentials for Human SubjectsProtections Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Clinical Research Coordinator plusadditional sponsor GCP certifications as required
- Understandsand adheres to IRB requirements Human Subjects protection regulations and allaspects of IRB approved protocols
- Performs all other research duties as assigned
Required Qualifications: - Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of clinical research management to include regulatory human subjects protection study conduct and data management requirements.
- Knowledge of FDA regulations ethical research issues and research protocols and guidelines
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal excellent interpersonal/organizational skills;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and SPSS or comparable programs;
- Self-motivated able to work independently familiar with research regulations;
- Ability to follow complex regulations policies andrequirements for each study assigned.
- Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect professionalism and civility with a population of faculty staff and students from various backgrounds and experiences or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
- Experience with collection of bio specimens from human research participants.
- Experience reviewing medical records.
Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in related field.
- Work experience in an academic medical center/university;
- Experience working with industry sponsored studies
Additional Information: This is a restricted position with no set end date and continued employment is dependent upon project need availability of funding and performance.
