Primary Purpose:
Assist the Coordinator and/or Manager of Adult Education in the implementation of adult education programs.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university
- Certificate or license in appropriate field preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- General knowledge of computer systems and software applications
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
- Ability to interpret policy procedures and data
Experience:
- Three years area specific experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in the identification and preparation of sites for adult education classes.
- Help to organize student registration assessment and class assignments.
- Comply with federal state and local guidelines for implementation of adult education services including registration attendance and assessments.
- Regularly monitor observe and supervise teachers and support staff providing appropriate feedback.
- Monitor student performance on state assessments and other program objectives and take appropriate steps to correct student performance problems when necessary.
- Work with staff to provide a positive adult learning environment and assist in resolving issues of student discipline and student complaints.
- Assist in processing accurate and timely payroll records.
- Administer and score mandated state assessments according to the State Assessment Policy and local guidelines.
- Comply with state and local guidelines for certification in administration and scoring of standardized assessments.
- Assist in recruitment of teachers and staff and participates in the hiring process.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
