The Federal Work Study student provides administrative assistance to the student accounts financial aid education or career services department.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist students with homework assignments and other school related projects workingwith small groups and individuals
- Help students with basic math or reading skills (pronunciation word association letter andsound recognition)
- Help students to develop reading comprehension and understanding
- Assist site coordinator in monitoring student behavior and enforcing discipline
- Assist site coordinator in identifying student needs and communicating them to staffand volunteers as appropriate
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Currently a college student
- Eligible for Federal Work Study
- Must be available two or three days Monday thru Friday times flexible with students schedule
- Good English communication (oral and written)
- Desire to work with children students in pre-k and elementary in an after school program
- Ability to interact with staff students and volunteers as needed
Credentials and Experience:
- Must meet specified academic and Financial Aid Criteria
- Must meet Department of Education Federal Work Study eligibility requirements
- Must be enrolled at Platt College
Pre Requisites:
- 90% Attendance
- FWS students that miss school for any reason are not eligible to work on the same day
- 2.5 GPA or higher
- FA requirements have been met (Please see the Financial Aid Department for more information on eligibility)
- Student must maintain SAP
Compensation Rate: $ 17.50 /hour
