Job Summary:
As a Director of Software Engineering of 55ip is looking for an experienced leader of software development on its client-facing and data applications across its investment management platform that serves investment advisory (RIA) & wealth management firms. The ideal candidate for this role has successfully designed delivered and maintained large-scale systems for the financial services and / or capital markets domain. The candidate has successfully demonstrated the ability to lead and manage multiple teams that develop maintain and support cloud-hosted software. The candidate will be a self-motivated and responsible individual; a problem solver; a team player; an empathetic leader; and a proficient software engineer looking to make a significant impact in a fast-growing company with humility and hustle.
Job Responsibilities:
- End-to-end software design development and delivery of 55ips client and data apps.
- Build organizeand mentor teams for success.
- Partner with stakeholders to ideate define & deliver a product roadmap of scalable solutions.
- Prioritize and allocate resources to efficiently deliver on the firms technology goals.
- Govern and iteratively enhance the SDLC coding standards and testing quality.
- Ensure that teams and products comply with the firms Security and Controls policies.
- Developstrategic organizational forecasts and plans.
- Prepare and execute on hiring training and retention programs in collaboration with HR.
Required Qualifications Skills and Capabilities:
- Over 18 years of experience in software development or technology.
- Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Computer Electronic or IT Engineering.
- Recent experience in successfully leading & mentoring technology teams.
- Passion for designingarchitecture and delivering to production large scale user-focused n-tier applications.
- Thoughtful and proficientat communicating with all stakeholders.
- Demonstrable ability and empathy in managing people and their development.
- Real-world command of Object Oriented Programming and Software design patterns.
- Hands-on experience in governing Agile Scrum and promoting high coding standards.
- Exposure to implementing industry standard cybersecurity & technology controls.
An understanding of organization cost forecasting and strategic planning.
Preferred Qualifications Skills and Capabilities:
- Domain expertise in wealth management capital marketsor trading applicationswill be strongly preferred.
- Masters degree or MBA (or equivalent) would be preferred.
