Job Description

The Behavior Support Specialist will work with youths who have behavioral challenges and provide support to help them achieve their goals. The specialist will work with a team of professionals to develop and implement behavior support plans provide training to staff and caregivers and monitor progress.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct functional behavior assessments
  • Develop and implement behavior support plans
  • Provide training to staff and caregivers on behavior management strategies
  • Monitor progress and make adjustments to behavior support plans as needed
  • Collaborate with other professionals such as therapists and social workers to provide comprehensive support
  • Document and maintain accurate records of services provided
  • Attend meetings and provide updates on progress
  • Provide Therapeutic Behavioral Services to clients by consulting with a licensed clinician to assist with the individuals needs.
  • Provide service planning for individualized supports or care coordinator of healthcare behavioral health non-healthcare services and development of a treatment plan.
  • Provide linkage interventions treatment options restoration of daily life skills and crisis prevention services.
  • Provide services to individual clients or groups of clients.
  • Promote a positive and cooperative relationship with all outside contacts.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in psychology social work or related field or at least 3 years of equivalent experience providing support to individuals with significant behavioral challenges.
  • Experience working with individuals with behavioral challenges
  • Knowledge of mental health behavior management strategies and techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
