Elevator Operator (On-Call)

Hourly Compensation: $23.25 Non-Exempt Overtime Eligible

(This is a fixed hourly wage rate. No wage range exists).

ABOUT OUR HOTEL

  • 4th largest hotel in Seattle with 557 rooms 28000 sq. ft of meeting space

  • Although we had to lay-off 90% of our staff at the beginning of the pandemic we brought the majority of them back. Our people are very loyal to the hotel & were waiting for our call to return

JOB SUMMARY

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Elevator this role the successful candidate will be responsible for operating the elevator to provide vertical transportation to our guests and ensuring that passengers reach their desired floor safely and efficiently while ensuring the safety of all individuals inside the elevator at the time.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides elevator operation in keeping with departmental standards for excellent customer service
  • Ensures guests are transported to the correct destination based on instructions.
  • Manages flow of elevators as efficiently as possible by prioritization and location of guests requests
  • Observes passengers for signs of stress or anxiety in order to assist them during their ride
  • Report all mechanical problems such as malfunctions breakdowns or defects in the elevator system
  • Using emergency equipment such as fire extinguishers and first aid kits in case of emergency
  • Providing guests with information on building services such as the location of the nearest restrooms or the h ours of operations for food services banquets etc.
  • Operating the elevator according to established procedures and regulations including announcing stops and closing door sin between stops
  • Reporting any safety hazards or unusual activity to supervisors or security staff
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must be able to speak read and understand and follow simple directions in English. Some motor dexterity is required. Good interpersonal skills are necessary along with excellent customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

High School Diploma or the equivalent of education and experience in a related field.
