The Director Equal Opportunity will report to the Vice President Access and Community Engagement. This highly visible role is expected to develop deliver and oversee anti-discrimination and harassment programs for the university community including students faculty and staff.
The Director is charged with managing the universitys compliance with federal and state anti-discrimination laws regulations and requirements. To that end this position also serves as the institution-wide Title IX Coordinator Title VI Coordinator and the Section 504/ADA Coordinator.
The position will work closely with the Office of General Counsel as well as the Offices of Human Resources Student Life and Campus Security.
The position will be primarily located at New York Techs Old Westbury New York campus but the responsibilities will also cover its campuses in New York New York and Jonesboro Arkansas. A hybrid work schedule will be considered.
Specific Responsibilities:
Education/Experience:
: Bachelors degree and 5 years of relevant experience in the field of employment law student affairs anti-discrimination law compliance human resources investigations or similar field.
Preferred: Juris Doctorate or advanced degree in a related field; experience conducting trainings and investigations in a higher education setting; ATIXA or other industry trainings/certifications in Title IX or a related field.
