Job Description
Optimus seeks a dynamic organized Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician to help us to reach our bold growth goals assisting fleets in reducing their carbon emissions and achieving environmental sustainability goals.
This is a full-time hourly position ($33.07-$36.92 per hour) based in our offices of Pittsburgh PA. The Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician will be gathering and assembling all components within and related to our Vector and SMARTFuel Systems will work with Engineering on prototypes and fitment and will be responsible for maintaining data systems and records pertaining to production quality and safety. The position requires a level of confidence in being able to work independently exercise effective time management and the ability to collaborate with others when necessary.

Responsibilities
- Performs production assembly operations on electrical and mechanical assemblies subassemblies and kits
- Programs ECUs Telematics SmartFuel and displays
- Creates and maintains documentation of building instructions SOPs manufacturing orders inspections tests and other reporting as required
- Works with Engineering to develop product prototypes representing production and focusing on manufacturability at scale
- Works with Engineering and Field Services to install new products on vehicles to test for fit and function
- Utilizes strong time management to prioritize and complete tasks without significant supervision
- Supports continuous learning and improvement of product and systems by assessing processes providing meaningful feedback and conducting formal experiments
- Maintains shop organization and cleanliness
- Willingness to ask questions seek feedback and adapt
Qualifications & Experience
- Associate Degree Technical School graduate or equivalent
- 3 years of diesel engine mechanical and electrical systems experience highly desired
- 5 years of assembly technician experience or transferrable detail-oriented hands-on work
- The ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability and willingness to work with other team members to solve problems
- Consistent and high level of attention to detail exemplified by pride in ones work
- Proven ability to work independently and under pressure with little to no supervision when necessary
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills in prioritizing scheduling and time management
