About the Work Unit
The Center of Accounting (CFA) performs and/or oversees all accounting functions for CDOT and its Enterprises related to contract execution accounts payable accounts receivable general ledger treasury/cash/debt management payroll and timesheet processing fixed assets construction and grant project accounting federal aid billing rate allocation programs and the annual financial audit of the department. This work unit ensures all financial related transactions for CDOT are recorded in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and all State and Federal rules and regulations
About the Position
The Fixed Asset Accountant position will work on Fixed Assets Reconciliations Internal Control and provide General Accounting Supervisory back-up addition this position will complete the annual physical inventory of fixed assets ensure the Center of Accounting Internal Control is robust by reviewing monthly/daily diligent reports and support Accounts payable and Account Receivable supervisors when they are unavailable prepare monthly and year-end reconciliations for fixed assets additions/deletions perform monthly project settlements and ensure CDOT meets all the internal controls compliance requirements.

A combination of education and experience which totals at least eight (8) years

Colorado CPA License and Experience or Education
A combination of a Colorado CPA License education and/or experience which totals at least eight (8) years
