Job Description

The Kaiwhina Hauora (Primary Care Assistant) is part of the primary care team and supports the delivery of quality healthcare to whnau. The role involveshands-on clinical support during consultations and procedures with whnau as well as sterilising equipment cleaning maintaining stock and supply levels recalling whnau for medical procedures and a variety of other clinical duties.


The role also includes administrative duties such as updating clinical records claiming compliance activities responding to information requests and queries and reception/phone cover as required. So being organised and able to manage competing demands is essential.


Based at our Thames Whnau Health Centre (Mary St Thames) this fulltime (1.0 FTE) role is a great opportunity for someone thinking about a career as a health professional. Previous experience in a clinical environment is an advantage - as is a great attitude and willingness to learn. Computer literacy and being able to use Microsoft Office software is a prerequisite. You may also be required to provide cover at our Paeroa Whnau Health Centre from time to time so flexibility in this respect is also required.
