Who are we looking for

Were looking for a Hydrodynamic and Coastal Modeller to join our WA Environment business group.

Our Environment business has maintained strong growth in recent years and is currently one of the largest groups in WA being a leader in impact assessment and approvals terrestrial ecology marine air and noise assessments services. Our diverse team contributes to a wide variety of projects with a strategic focus on renewable energy critical minerals and Defence at a regional national and global scale.

Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Interacting with engineers and approvals specialists to provide innovative solutions to marine and aquatic ecological issues.
  • Analysing met-ocean/oceanographic and water quality data.
  • Undertaking three-dimensional hydrodynamic modelling and two-dimensional spectral wave modelling.
  • Undertaking numerical modelling for dredging wastewater discharges and oil spills.
  • Supporting our Maritime and Coastal teams in delivering coastal numerical modelling assessments.
  • Provision of environmental advice to clients.
  • Contributing to the preparation of high-quality proposals and technical reports.
  • Collaborating effectively with project team members to ensure successful client experience in project delivery.
  • Participation in meetings with clients regulators and subcontractors.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Bachelor degree qualifications in Environmental Engineering.
  • Experience with numerical modelling software (MIKE software suite preferred).
  • Experience with analysis of met-ocean/oceanographic and water quality data.
  • Efficient data management mathematical and data analysis competencies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills including experience in the preparation of reports for clients and/or regulators.
