Job Description
The program manager for the Commonwealth Cyber Initiative (CCI) Southwest Virginia node will perform program management duties that include the planning implementation and management of the nodes research innovation and workforce development programs. Activities include the coordination of current programs the creation of new programs and the financial management of all node budgets and funds and the research administration including contract administration of all the nodes projects. Program support also includes event planning and operational support of all the nodes outreach and other related events. The program manager will also manage the office suite and all other administrative needs of the node. The node usually hires intern(s) each semester. The PM will hire supervise and coordinate the intern(s) workload. The program manager is responsible for writing reports collecting data and reporting initiative results on a monthly quarterly and annual basis. The PM works closely with other program managers at the other nodes within the initiative and other regional institutions on node programs. The PM also supports the node director administratively and serves as part of the node management team.
Required Qualifications
Masters degree in Business Administration Management or other business-related field or Bachelors with significant training and experience in lieu of the advanced degree
Proven experience in program/project management
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively and interact professionally with constituent groups such as faculty students corporate partners government agencies administrators and other representatives
Excellent communication skills
Must demonstrate an ability to set and manage multiple priorities tasks and deadlines simultaneously
Experience working with budgets or other financial-related materials
Proficiency in office suite tools such as word processing spreadsheets and presentations
Preferred Qualifications
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Website experience
Experience with ERP systems such as finance content management and reporting
Experience planning and/or supporting planning of large meetings and events
Experience with generating financial reports collecting data and capturing results on a monthly quarterly and annual basis
Exempt: Not eligible for overtime
