Job Description
Student Worker ECC Crossing Guard
Purpose/Objective of the Role:
The Service Learning office and ECC are partnering to make Park Ave safer for our preschool program! We are hiring students for spring semester to serve as Crossing Guards at the ECC Monday thru Friday during the Early Childhood Centers arrival and dismissal times. A portion of the shift will be outdoors so appropriately dressing for the weather is a must!
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Applicants must commit to the full Spring semester
- Successful completion of FBI/BCI Background Check (paid for by the program)
- Completion of medical exam (through the student health center)
- Complete the provided training (January)
- Attend every assigned shift
- Assist ECC families by ensuring a safe crosswalk during arrival and departure times
- Assist with small ECC projects as time allows
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills
- Time management skills
- Unwavering commitment to attendance
- Passion for working with children and fostering a positive environment
- Federal Work Study Recipient (preferred not required)
Potential Future Career Benefit:
The ECC Crossing Guard program provides a fulfilling experience for students interested in any field that requires interacting with the public by enhancing communication and interpersonal skills. This position will allow interactions with the ECC staff enrolled students and their families.
