Performs maintenance operations and repair activities for the clean water facility and the water treatment facility of the Water Management Department while providing assistance to the Service Division Maintenance Technicians as needed.

Primary challenges of this position includes performing as part of the maintenance team for the Department in keeping all facilities in operable condition.
V. Equipment Operated
Operates equipment including service truck crane truck skid steer tractor air compressor and pneumatic tools to perform maintenance activities. Microsoft Office products tablets and other office equipment such as printers.
VI. Key Competencies Required
Job Content Knowledge:Has thorough knowledge of the policies procedures and activities of the City and water and sewer line installation and repair practices as they pertain to the performance of duties relating to the position. Has comprehensive knowledge of the terminology principles and methods utilized within the department. Is knowledgeable and proficient with computers. Basic electrical knowledge (identify feeds rewire pumps etc.). Basic knowledge of PLC operation and functionality. Knowledge of all policies rules and regulations including but not limited to the City of Franklin Employee Handbook TOSHA Safety and Confined-Space Program etc.
Language Skills:Read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills:Add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Skills:Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization decision making some choices are known while others may need to be identified. Some reliance on precedent. Interpret a variety of complex instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
Teamwork:Develops constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.Encourages others to express their ideas and opinions. Provides input into identifying and solving problems. Anticipates need of others for information about job tasks and work environment and provides it to them in a timely manner. Willingly assists others with job tasks when appropriate.

VIII. Qualifications
Education and Experience:
The required knowledge skill and abilities to satisfactorily perform job duties are normally acquired through obtaining a HS diploma or equivalent and a one-year certificate from a college or technical school; or three to five years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Certifications/Licenses:
Valid Drivers License
Site Specific Boiler Certification obtained withing 1 year of hire date and maintained throughout employment.
