The LA SPECIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking applicants for a

RESIDENTIAL TEAM LEADER

Position #

To be filled immediately


This position is responsible for the afternoon/evening shift at the LA School for the Visually Impaired Residential Program. This is a full time 12 month position.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelors degree in education psychology social work sociology or related field with a background and/or experience in working in the field of visually impaired
  • Two (2) years of work experience with visually impaired individuals.
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification required or must secure such certification within the first 6 months of employment.
  • Must possess skills in human relations planning organizing coordinating writing and computer use to perform related office functions.
Substitions/Preferred Qualifications:
  • A Masters degree in the fields listed above will substitute for 1 year of the work experience with visually impaired individuals.
  • Prior administrative or supervisory experience and experience working with children at a residential school is preferred.
