Role: Finance Executive

Role Definition:
The Finance Executive is responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations of the college ensuring accurate record-keeping compliance with statutory requirements and supporting decision-making by providing timely financial data and reports. The role acts as a key support function to ensure smooth financial governance and accountability within the institution.
Key Deliverables:
Timely and accurate maintenance of accounts.
Monthly reconciliation statements.
Student fee collection and outstanding reports.
Payroll accuracy and compliance reports.
Audit-ready financial records and documents.
Budget monitoring and variance analysis reports.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting & Record Keeping
Maintain accurate books of accounts in compliance with accounting standards.
Record daily transactions including fees vendor payments salaries and petty cash.
Prepare monthly/quarterly financial statements and reports for management review.
Ensure timely reconciliation of bank accounts and ledgers.
2. Fee & Student Accounting
Manage student fee collections (online and offline).
Track outstanding dues and coordinate with administration for timely recovery.
Maintain transparent records of scholarships concessions and refunds.
3. Budgeting & Expense Control
Assist in preparing the annual budget in line with academic and operational plans.
Monitor expenses against allocated budgets and highlight variances.
Process vendor invoices verify bills and ensure timely payments.
4. Compliance & Audit Support
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (Income Tax GST PF ESI etc.).
Maintain documentation and records for audit purposes.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors during reviews.
5. Reporting & MIS
Generate periodic financial reports (monthly quarterly annual) for management.
Provide data analysis and insights to support decision-making.
Maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial data.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
Bachelors degree in Commerce Finance or Accounting (MBA Finance preferred).
14 years of relevant experience in accounting/finance (experience in an educational institution will be an advantage).
Working knowledge of taxation compliance and financial reporting.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Proficiency in MS Excel Tally or other accounting software.
Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Ability to manage deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
Ethical conduct and confidentiality in handling financial data.
