St John of God Midland Private Hospital is proud to announce a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic Marketing and Communications Manager to join our team. As the newest member of the St John of God Health Care family Midland Private Hospital offers a unique chance to lead the hospitals marketing and communications from the ground up.
In this exciting role you will lead the development and execution of dynamic multi-channel communication strategies that engage and inform Specialists caregivers patients and the wider community. You will shape the hospitals reputation through targeted internal and external messaging drive impactful events that foster strong relationships with key stakeholders and champion consumer participation by ensuring patient and community voices are valued and heard.

About the new Midland Private Hospital
Set to open in August 2026 the new St John of God Midland Private Hospital will feature 123 inpatient beds an intensive care and coronary care unit six operating theatres and day surgery and the regions first interventional cardiology services. Located just two blocks from the existing Midland Public and Private Hospital campus the purpose-built facility will expand access to private health care in Perths eastern corridor.
The Position
Provide effective communications leadership across the division driving continuous improvement innovation and consistently high performance as outlined in the SJGHC Leadership Profile.
Manage allocated budget and key performance indicators for the Department rapidly taking corrective action or escalating if necessary.
Effective people management including clear expectation setting and caregiver development with plans that are reviewed at least annually.
In collaboration with Human Resources implement caregiver/industrial relations policies including managing disciplinary matters and grievances in accordance with group-wide and Divisional policies.
Promote SJG Midland Private Hospital through the development of communications products and tools to inform and engage specialists consumers caregivers GPs and other key stakeholders within our community as required.
Coordination of all Midland Private based communications material within SJGHC brand guidelines.
Develop and implement Digital and Social Media strategy including management of content on the SJG Midland Private Website.
Coordinate media responses as required.
Develop and manage events to engage Specialists consumers caregivers GPs and other key stakeholders.
All other reasonable duties as directed by CEO / Director Business Development.
Provide support to and implement internal communication initiatives as required which are aimed at caregiver communication and engagement strategies supporting a positive and vibrant culture.
You will possess a tertiary qualification in Communication Marketing Journalism or Public Relations with extensive experience in a similar role within a large and complex organisation. You will demonstrate outstanding journalistic and professional corporate communications skills with proven expertise in writing editing and proofing across both print and digital mediums.
Strong public relations capabilities are essential including the ability to develop and implement innovative promotional strategies alongside experience in event coordination and the effective management of digital platforms including social media.
To succeed you will possess well-developed project management skills enabling them to work independently on multiple projects with minimal supervision. Exceptional verbal and interpersonal abilities coupled with strong negotiation and influencing skills are required. Experience in managing design and print production processes is essential as is a high level of analytical and budgeting capability.

We can offer you
Salary: $124196 to $137946 per annum plus 12% superannuation
A fixed term full time position working 76 hours per fortnight up to 15 months
The role will initially be split between Kings Square and Midland until early 2026 with a planned move to a full-time Midland location in February or March 2026
