Room Attendant Job Description
A housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean sanitary comfortable and tidy environment in hotel guest rooms. They perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping mopping dusting and polishing. They ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards.
Responsibilities:
- Clean and tidy all areas of establishment primarily guest rooms
- Sweep mop and vacuum floors
- Dust and polish furniture and fixtures
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms and kitchens
- Make beds and change linens as required
- Empty trash bins and dispose of waste appropriately
- Restock supplies such as toiletries and cleaning products
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards
- Help with laundry and general cleaning
- Adhere to health and safety regulations
Requirements:
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights weekends and holidays
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service and interpersonalcommunication skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs)and ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to handle emergency and stressful situations like resolving customer conflicts
- Ability to make quick decisions
- Ability to create a positive and welcoming customer experience
