Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Bachelors degree in Risk Management Healthcare Administration Nursing or related field (Masters preferred)
- 35 years of experience in risk management compliance or quality assurance (healthcare senior living or hospital setting preferred)
- Strong knowledge of federal and Washington DC healthcare regulations including CMS HIPAA OSHA and District-specific compliance standards
- Familiarity with insurance claims management survey readiness and incident reporting systems
- Excellent analytical investigative and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Proven ability to educate train and mentor staff on compliance and risk mitigation practices
- Strong communication and leadership skills with executives staff families and regulatory agencies
Responsibilities
- Develop implement and oversee the facilitys risk management program to ensure compliance and reduce liability
- Conduct regular audits safety inspections and risk assessments; lead root cause analysis and corrective action planning
- Prepare and train staff for survey readiness ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and clinical standards
- Act as primary liaison during surveys audits and regulatory visits; manage documentation and responses in real time
- Investigate and document incidents accidents and grievances; track trends and implement improvement strategies
- Collaborate with leadership clinical teams and legal counsel on claims management insurance issues and quality outcomes
- Lead emergency preparedness planning including drills evacuation procedures and debriefs with staff
