Job Summary
Position Requirements:
- Abilities to deal within a multicultural and distributed environment (ability to communicate effectively in a conference call setting).
- Presentation skills Abilities to showcase the JAVA/UI accomplishments to the rest of the team and stakeholders when the occasion rises.
- General Computer knowledge Word Excel (advanced) PowerPoint Outlook
- Toolset Specific skills: Proven track record (5 years) with Java and related web frameworks
- Developing and integrating in web based applications
- HTML with CSS and Javascript
- Database driven applications (Oracle MySQL or Ms SQL Server)
- A Continuous Integration environment (SVN Jenkins Maven Nexus or equivalent)
- Unit testing framework (JUnit) as well as related tools (JTest or equivalent).
- Secure Coding Lifecycle (Secure Coding training standards scans penetration testing remediation)
- Development standards
- Development Collaboration Suite (Rally JIRA HP QC SharePoint or equivalent)
- Experience with IOC and ORM frameworks a plus.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor or Masters of Science in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent
- 5 years of experience in building industry proven Java solutions.
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Experience integrating in a Scrum driven development team
- Multi-cultural experience on geographically distributed projects is a plus.
- Travel Industry related experience is a plus.
The Systems Analyst will be a member of an Agile Scrum Team.
Position Responsibilities:
- Create custom solutions for our internal and external clients
- Establish design documentation based on business requirements.
- Develop assemble integrate and test components that meet the business requirements
- Liaise with Business Analyst and Quality Assurance Analyst to ensure requirement compliance and test coverage
- Deliver the expected artifacts with applicable quality standards and performing as expected to the business environment and end user.
- Integrate and effectively communicate with the rest of the Scrum team (Product Owner Developer QA Analyst and Business Analyst).
- Indicate performed and upcoming activities as well as known impediment/issues.
- Express issues in a clear consistent and understandable manner (written verbal).
- Take ownership of all assigned tasks and project related assignments.
- Ensure direct communication over email/ticketing chain to ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
