Jabil operates an expansive global manufacturing and supply chain network with significant operations in Mexico the Dominican Republic and Brazil. Jabil seeks a dedicated legal professional to provide leadership in trade compliance risk management regulatory interpretation and audit response. The successful candidate will advise on regional trade customs and compliance matters lead engagement with government authorities and enhance local implementation of Jabils global trade policies.
This role:
- Serves as the primary legal advisor and trade compliance manager for trade compliance matters across Latin America.
- Provides day-to-day legal oversight support and guidance on export licensing customs valuation origin determinations tariff classifications FTA usage FTZ or other special custom regime management recordkeeping and other trade related matters.
- Oversees local implementation of restricted party screening classification and licensing standards developed by the trade compliance team.
- Supports internal investigations audit responses and corrective action planning in connection with government audits.
- Coordinates directly with regional business leaders site operations and logistics teams to mitigate legal and reputational risk.
- Leads the identification escalation and remediation of potential trade compliance risks associated with export licensing customs brokers freight forwarders and logistics third-party relationships.
- Advises and oversees government interaction protocols regarding trade compliance matters and supports due diligence and compliance assessments of third parties operating in high-risk trade functions.
- Contributes to internal trade compliance governance structures including policy implementation training and compliance monitoring for Jabils LATAM operations.
- Monitors and reports on regional legislative and regulatory developments in trade customs and sanctions compliance that may affect Jabils operations and trade compliance program.
- Acts as a critical liaison between the global trade compliance organization and local business leaders to ensure aligned risk-based and lawful operational execution.

Additional Requirements
- Fluent in Spanish and English (Portuguese a plus); strong legal writing skills in both languages.
- Licensed attorney in good standing in Mexico or other LATAM jurisdiction with eligibility to work across LATAM (including cross-border advisory).
- Demonstrated experience engaging with Mexican Servicio de Administracin Tributaria customs brokers and foreign trade auditors.
- Deep knowledge of IMMEX PROSEC Annex 24/31 origin rules (specifically USMCA) and other effective trade agreements.
- Demonstrated integrity and ability to independently manage sensitive matters involving government interactions.
- Experience advising on U.S. and multilateral sanctions and export controls is a strong plus.
Educational & Professional Requirements
- Law degree from an accredited institution in Mexico or other LATAM jurisdiction.
- 712 years of legal experience in trade customs or international regulatory compliance preferably a mix of law firm and in-house work.
- Experience working in a multinational environment ideally in manufacturing or logistics-intensive industry.
