Job Summary:
Catawba Two Kings Casino is seeking a Director of Hotel to join our this role the successful candidate will act as a strategic and operational leader responsible for the overall performance guest experience and profitability of the hotel within Two Kings Casino & Hotel. This role oversees a 24-story 385-room hotel featuring 84 junior suites and 10 penthouse suites. The Director will lead departmental strategy manage multi-unit teams and drive continuous improvement in service excellence financial management operational efficiency labor management revenue generation and strategic planning to maintain the hotels reputation and success.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
Provides strategic direction leadership and operational oversight of all hotel departments.
Leads coaches and develops a large multi-layered team (e.g. front-desk housekeeping amenities and front-line staff).
Partners with executive leadership to align hotel goals with the casinos overall business objectives.
Fosters a positive hotel image and reputation through community outreach and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Operations & Execution
Ensures world-class guest experiences across hotel operations with emphasis on consistency quality and brand standards.
Drives service excellence initiatives to achieve and maintain Forbes Travel Guide and/or AAA 4 Diamond standards.
Oversees compliance with health safety sanitation and licensing requirements.
Financial Management
Develops manages improves and analyzes department budgets including labor ADR (average daily rate) MPOR (minutes per occupied room) RevPar (revenue per available room) and capital expenditures.
Drives profitability by optimizing guest service offerings through strategic pricing promotional planning operational efficiency and inventory management.
Analyzes financial performance and implements corrective actions as needed.
Guest Experience Excellence
Acts as Manager on Duty (MOD) for FOP guest relations and complex situations.
Leverages guest feedback competitive benchmarking and market trends to continuously improve operations and/or offerings.
Handles high-profile guest issues and maintain relationships with repeat high-profile players.
Collaboration & Compliance
Works cross-functionally with Food & Beverage Marketing Events Gaming Facilities Security and HR to support broader property initiatives.
Maintains health safety and security standards throughout the hotel.
Ensures compliance with all federal state and local hospitality regulations including gaming and alcohol laws.
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in hospitality management business or related field preferred or seven (7) years of progressive hotel leadership experience in high-volume success in managing properties with 150 rooms preferably in gaming or resort environments.
Proven track record in Forbes Travel Guide AAA Diamond or equivalent luxury rating systems.
Strong knowledge financial acumen with experience in revenue optimization cost control budget development labor optimization and P&L management.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Catawba Gaming License as required by tribal and state authorities.
Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
Preferred Attributes:
Experience in casino or entertainment-based hotel environments.
Extensive experience in luxury hospitality operations guest relations and service delivery.
Deep understanding and passion of luxury hospitality trends competitive landscape guest expectations innovation and elevating team culture.
Advanced experience with hotel management systems property management and guest service platforms.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire diverse teams in a fast-paced 24/7 environment.
Flexibility in scheduling including availability to work nights weekends holidays and for special events as required by business needs.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook and PowerPoint).
Excellent communication interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work an alternate schedule as needed.
Ability to work in a loud fast-paced environment (may occasionally be exposed to second-hand cigarette smoke).
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms; bend to open/use lower drawers or cabinetry; to talk hear and see. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
