Divisional Services and Administration is a team of highly skilled professionals dedicated to delivering exceptional support to students and staff. As the largest workforce of the university our team spans every corner of the motu and fosters a strong culture of whakawhanaukataka (community). We take pride in providing confidential high-quality secretarial and administrative services that empower our university to excel.

The role/Te mahi

The Dunedin School of Medicine are seeking two capable and motivated Administrators to provide high-quality administrative support to the Department of Surgery and Critical Care and Department of Preventive & Social Medicine. These are varied and rewarding roles working closely with the Heads of Department academic staff and administrative colleagues. You will support a range of teaching operational and departmental activities such as coordinating teaching assessment events managing and recording student results and preparing data analysis reports for academic staff and stakeholders.

Other operational tasks will include:
Diary management.
Triaging email correspondence.
General secretarial support.
Booking travel and accommodation.
Processing transactional finance.
Supporting Human Resources processes.

You are great at managing your time staying organised and thinking critically. People appreciate your clear communication eye for detail and the positive collaborative energy you bring to a team. You work well independently showing initiative when its needed. Working with diverse communities comes naturally to you. Additional skills required are:
Proven experience in a dynamic administrative and customer focused environment.
Demonstrate a calm and composed demeanour capable of handling shifting priorities.
Professional with the ability to adapt quickly and remain flexible in dynamic environments.
Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite with ability to adapt and navigate new systems.
Dedication to working in a culturally safe and respectful manner and an understanding and
appreciation of Te Ao Mori Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and Pasifika values.

The Department of Preventive & Social Medicine is a fixed term (12 month) full time (37.5 hours) position and the Department of Surgery and Critical Care is a permanent full time (37.5 hours) position based in tepoti Dunedin.

The appointment range for these roles is $63508 to $68185. Top of the range is $73640.

We are also seeking candidates for Kaiwhakahaere Tari which support the implementation of our Mori Strategic Framework. The salary range for this role is $69931 to $74609. Top of the range is $80285.
