Job Description

Role Title: Security Officer Lead
Role Location: Vhi Kilkenny
Company: Vhi Group Services DAC

Vhi Group Services DAC have a full-time 2 years FTC contract role for the position of Senior Security Officer (shift work) based in our Kilkenny Office. The successful candidate will be highly competent and capable to monitor the premises and protect our valued colleagues and visitors.

Role Purpose
  • Ensure a safe environment through a team effort of diligent active patrol strict access control monitoring and equipment control
  • Respond immediately to distress calls panic alarms and emergency calls for disorderly conduct disruptive persons and incidents swiftly and appropriately
  • Maintain the companys reputation with professionalism and legal compliance
  • Collaborate with other security officers for effective protection and coverage e.g. rotas holidays and other leave within the team.
  • Manage our outsourced security partners with shift requirements leave and general day-to-day duties.
  • Weekly reporting to Facilities Manager on events or issues.
  • Keep Senior Security Officer updated on any immediate threats to buildings and colleagues.
  • Update and maintain Security Procedures and Service tickets for shared innovation spaces in Kilkenny office.
  • Manage and maintain the access control system and persons entering our buildings including activation and deactivation of access cards in conjunction with People and Sustainability.
  • Set respond to and maintain alarms opening checking and locking up buildings and safekeeping and control of keys.
  • Support with office equipment furniture materials and stationery and store when required.
  • Control building facilities ensuring our buildings are safe for colleagues and members e.g. control heat ventilation lights and ensure that electrical equipment is switched on/off when necessary.
Education & Experience
  • 2 years minimum lead experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Health & Safety legislation

Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent people skills with a proven ability to manage and resolve conflicts within the team or with external parties calmly and effectively.
  • Ability to demonstrate decisive decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Proven reliability and flexibility
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent team player skills
  • Active listening skills with a strong demonstrated awareness of customers colleagues and team members needs.
  • Demonstrated alignment to the Vhi values
