The JV Head Boys Soccer Coach will coordinate instruct motivate and organize the high school soccer program. This position is primarily based at Guadalupe Centers High School and its athletic facilities. The role is appointed annually for the duration of the soccer season.
Reports To: Athletic Director Principal and Vice Principal
Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of soccer rules and fundamentals.
Maintain current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
Complete all required MSHSAA trainings.
Provide emergency first aid when necessary.
Create and maintain a safe and positive environment for student-athletes.
Maintain and accurately inventory school athletic equipment.
Model appropriate skills behavior dress and language for student-athletes.
Develop strong relationships with students and parents.
Organize and implement effective game strategies including player substitutions.
Screen and evaluate student-athletes for team membership making fair and appropriate decisions when cuts are required.
Submit eligibility lists rosters and required documentation to the administration.
Promote participation conditioning and training through camps and other opportunities.
Supervise student-athletes before during and after practices and games.
Coordinate transportation for games and practices in collaboration with the Athletic Director.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Strong leadership and motivational skills.
Extensive knowledge of soccer.
Ability to work effectively with student-athletes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Bachelors degree OR service as an approved Assistant Coach (3.1.4.b non-hardship) for a minimum of two school years.
Valid professional teaching certificate OR completion of NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching Course (one-time requirement).
Successful completion of Sports First Aid (renewed every two years).
Successful completion of CPR/AED training (renewed every two years).
Successful completion of the Concussion in Sports Course and annual review of updated materials.
Successful completion of the MSHSAA Sport-Specific Online Rules Review each season.
Minimum of three years of coaching experience preferred.
Ability to move about athletic fields gyms and related facilities.
Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
