We are seeking a dynamic and team-oriented individual to join our spirited team.
The Youth Career Advisor will oversee all activities related to the Out-of-School Youth Program. This person provides general support to the participants working closely with the case manager to remediate barriers. This position will also be responsible for providing innovative and engaging workshops and educational experiences for the participant. Flexibility is necessary for this position.
Recruit students for youth programs
Determine Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) eligibility
Provide individualized and holistic support to each participant tailored to their specific needs
Identify potential mentors for the youth population to aid in their success
Place (10) eligible youth into Pre-Apprenticeship track
Facilitate CASAS testing as needed
Conduct innovative and engaging workshops as needed
Represent youth program at school events and external meetings
Complete necessary CWDS data entry requirements
Maintain youth files in accordance with state and local regulations
Ability to work evening hours M-TR until 7pm at both CareerLink locations as needed

Offer pre-enrollment career advising to PA CareerLink walk-ins as scheduled by the Site Administrator
Educate job seekers about local Labor Market Information (LMI) related to career pathways
Provide financial literacy guidance related to wages and participants career goals
Manage a caseload of a maximum of 50 new job seekers per year plus 50 participants in 12 months follow-up
Create and maintain an ISS for job seekers
Assess participants existing skills aptitudes and goals
Collaborate with Case Manager to identify and remediate participants barriers to success
Maintain case notes following local policies in the system of record
Guide participants through the IFR process to evaluate occupational training opportunities
Offer resume writing assistance and interview practice for participants
Advocate for participants in case review meetings including ITA committee review match meetings or DST meetings
Ensure participants are aware of and participate in hiring events
Provide follow-up services to participants for 12 months after exit
Bachelors Degree in business education human resources or related area is required
Must have experience working with at-risk youth population
Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision
Must have excellent communication and teamwork skills
Should have skills and experience in providing career development assistance
Should have working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Should have Trauma Informed Care Training
Must have notable experience in a team-oriented environment
Valid Drivers License required
