Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-consciousBand Saw Operator to join our production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating band saw machinery to cut metal wood or plastic materials according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail mechanical aptitude and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate band saw machines to cut materials to specified dimensions.
- Read and interpret blueprints work orders and production schedules.
- Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using measuring tools.
- Monitor machine operation and make adjustments as needed to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
- Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet quality standards.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain accurate records of production and machine maintenance.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating band saws or similar cutting equipment preferred.
- Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring tools (e.g. calipers tape measures).
- Strong mechanical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices and procedures.
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise dust and machinery.
- Requires standing bending and lifting up to X lbs.
- Use of PPE such as gloves safety glasses and hearing protection is mandatory.
