Responsibilities

Provides clinical nutrition services for oncology patients involving their families or care partners as desired/needed in the outpatient setting with inpatient consultation by request to optimize quality of life and outcomes.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

  • Provides overall coordination and delivery of nutrition education and management of services for oncology patients/care partners.
  • Provides clinical leadership in assessing planning implementing coordinating and monitoring oncology patients nutritional needs with optimal outcomes.
  • Emphasizes prevention and early detection as appropriate in the oncology management continuum.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary tumor conferences and advocates for patients needs.
  • Participates in program development implementation and promotional activities within CHI Memorial Cancer Services in the inpatient outpatient and community settings.
  • Collaborates with Support Services Team and the clinical pharmacist to include complementary approaches to nutritional treatment.
  • Assists with assessment coordination and management of enteral nutrition needs.
  • Provides nutrition resources as appropriate/available.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition or dietetics

Maintains registration status through the Commission on Dietetic Registration. (Tennessee licensure preferred but not required).

Minimum one year experience in patient counseling/nutrition management.
