  • East Suffolk CouncilLowestoft NR33 0EQ or Melton Woodbridge Suffolk IP12 1RT
  • Band 8 9 (figures will populate on Oracle) per annum (pro rata for part time staff)
  • 37 hours per week part time will be considered
  • Permanent

We currently have an opportunity to join East Suffolk Councils Audit Team as an Assistant Internal Audit Manager (IT). This role is working across our partnership with Ipswich Borough Council.

Your role:

You will lead and manage the delivery of IT Audits including consultancy work across the Internal Audit Partnership.

It will be your responsibility to coach support and carry out peer reviews of the work undertaken by the Audit staff and provide training to Internal Audit staff on the undertaking of IT audits.

You will be responsible for independent review and testing of the Councils current and proposed practices and procedures relating to:

  • the secure provision of business processing

  • the process for developing and acquiring new systems and facilities

  • the economy efficiency legality security and effectiveness of the use and exploitation of ICT facilities.

What you will need:

To succeed in this role you will have detailed knowledge and experience of ICT management security networks and systems design. You must be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge (conceptual theoretical and practical) of IT.

As this is a career graded post we welcome applications from those looking to expand and develop their ICT audit knowledge and experience.

Excellent interpersonal skills are crucial both verbally and in writing across all levels of the organisation as well as having strong negotiation skills. You will be required to work collaboratively across the partnership to drive improvements.
