Key Responsibilities
Manage technical projects related to piping vessels rotating and mechanical equipment.
Develop review and maintain mechanical standards and specifications.
Provide and verify low-risk mechanical and piping designs.
Support material selection for cost efficiency safety and reliability.
Apply structured processes for plant changes and project progression.
Oversee contract engineering services for mechanical modifications.
Assist Maintenance and Operations teams with equipment troubleshooting and emergency changes.
Ensure compliance with ABSA requirements industry codes and standards.
Participate in hazard reviews root cause analyses and reliability initiatives.
Promote a culture of safety compliance and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering.
Eligible for APEGA membership with ability to register as an Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) or Professional Engineer (.).
Minimum 1 year of experience in a gas processing facility (or equivalent); 2 years of mechanical engineering experience preferred.
Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software; experience with Finite Element Analysis an asset.
Strong knowledge of industry codes regulations and mechanical engineering best practices.
Skilled in Microsoft Office; project management experience is an asset.
Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers/E.I.T.s.
