ProMedica Russell J. Ebeid Childrens Hospital is a 169-bed facility that has grown to be the regions leading pediatric care facility. We offer a full spectrum of medical services to meet the unique needs of children from birth through adolescence. As an accredited facility by the Joint Commission we strive to meet the highest national standards for safety and quality of care and are committed to continually improving patient care.

Highlights of our facility include a Level IIIb 72-bed unit Neonatal Intensive Care Unit that provides care for premature babies as early as 22 weeks gestation and as small as 14 oz.; the regions largest Level II pediatric trauma center; a state-of-the-art cancer center for pediatric cancer patients; and the first dual-certified asthma program for treating both inpatient and outpatients by the Joint Commission in Ohio.

Position Summary:

ThePediatrics Injury Prevention Specialistis responsible for the implementation of injury prevention throughout Ebeid Childrens Hospital (ECH) including the Kids in Safe Seats (KISS) program for child passenger safety. They act as a resource to partner with community agencies and other ProMedica entities to develop community injury prevention and education initiatives. Conducts research and evaluation studies on timely injury and trauma-related topics. Seeks program funding through grants community donations and in-kind donations.



Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Public Health or a related field; or a minimum of 2 years experience as a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician
  • Must have or become a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician within 3 months of hire
  • Must have reliable transportation to the entire service area and a clean driving record
  • Prior experience working with children caregivers and the public; experience in public speaking and conducting presentations
  • Requires excellent verbal interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite critical thinking and problem solving skills
