Why Your Role Matters:
The Defence Security Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring UNSW continues to meet its Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) obligations as the Universitys key representative for Defence security matters in relation to the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) contract and research operations from the ADFA site.
Accountabilities:
The DSS is responsible for developing implementing and maintaining security processes and plans in accordance with the Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF) and aligned with operational needs and contractual obligations. This position requires project management and analytical skills to identify and mitigate security risks and influence a positive security culture. The DSS liaises with various stakeholders of all levels across UNSW and the Department of Defence.

Eligibility:
The successful candidate will be required to undertake pre-employment checks prior to commencement in this role. The checks that will be undertaken are listed in the Position Description. To be successful you must be an Australian citizen to be able to meet AGSVA eligibility requirements for a Baseline security clearance.
