What Youll Do
Epic Games is looking for Mobile Game Designers to join our team working on this role youll work with the gameplay team to adapt features and systems that delight players with fresh experiences into mobile. Gameplay Designers at Epic are part of a cross-discipline development team that owns the vision and drive to create innovative features and content that expand the Fortnite universe on mobile.
In this role you will
- Adapt the vision design and outcome of all efforts put into improving the mobile experience on Fortnite
- Join forces with Design and Product to identify and solve any opportunities to improve the mobile experience in Fortnite
- Work in the Unreal Engine to implement your designs in Blueprint in close collaboration with UI/UX engineers animators VFX sound artists among others
- Work with Production to guarantee we are constantly evaluating the mobile experience as well as prioritizing and enabling the team to work on any issues found
- Attend design review meetings to give feedback on mobile design considerations throughout development
- Attend playtests provide feedback and identify practical solutions to problems
- Evangelize best practices for working closely with User Research and incorporating playtest feedback
What were looking for
- 3 years experience shipping multiple titles as a mobile game designer on Unreal or Unity
- Strong interest in Fortnite BR and multiplayer games with an understanding of what makes them work
- Experience designing mobile game content for GaaS model or relevant online games experience
- Passion for games with a wide breadth of mobile development knowledge including controls for mobile and UX/UI
- Demonstrated talent for empathizing with players and a deep understanding of player motivations forms of play and the effects of goal setting on play
- Solution-oriented problem solver who can react quickly to changing project needs and drive decisions
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to fully own the outcome of a cross-disciplined team
