You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThefundamental reason this classification exists is to perform the duties ofequipment operator in the installation and maintenance of traffic control pavementmarkings and/or signs. Position incumbents are primarily assigned to either theStreet Striping subdivision or the Sign subdivision and perform the duties associatedwith that subdivision; however all position incumbents are cross-trained onthe duties of both subdivisions and can be utilized as needed. Position incumbents assist the TrafficMaintenance Worker III in training Traffic Maintenance Worker Is and may serveas lead workers for two to six member crews.Primary work responsibilities may include: serving as primary operator ofstriping machines thermoplastic melting and striping machines cold laidplastic machine and bituminous machines; training TMW Is on operation ofmachines; assisting in the onsite layout of pavement markings for installationand revitalization projects; serving as the lead worker on sign crews; assistingin the construction of street and traffic control signs; and performing additionalduties in service to the department. Incumbents receive onsite direction fromTraffic Maintenance Worker IIIs and are supervised by a Traffic MaintenanceSupervisor.
High school diploma or GED andone year of experience at the Traffic Maintenance Worker I level orequivalent. Must also have at least sixmonths of experience operating paint striping equipment and/or signmanufacturing machines.
Must have and maintain a valid drivers license and insurable driving record.
