Because of the temporary nature of these appointments Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits as provided to regular BOR and Civil Service employees. Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for full-time employees and up to 1 calendar year for part-time employees.

Other Conditions:
To begin as soon as September 2025 for up to one year from start datebut may end sooner dependent on availability of funding and program need. Must be available to work during office business hours Mon-Fri 7:45am to 4:30pm.
Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology or related field; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education knowledge skills and abilities as indicated.
Experience in research settings including familiarity with data collection and management procedures.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects.
Effective communication skills both written and verbal for coordinating with collaborators and mentoring research assistants.
Proficiency with basic office and research software such as Microsoft Office Google Workplace and data entry tools.
Desirable Qualifications
Familiarity with University of Hawaii at Manoa administrative systems and processes including research compliance IRB protocols and campus resources.
Knowledge of the local community and cultural context including awareness of local cultural values traditions and perspectives that may inform research practices.
Established connections or experience collaborating with campus units student organizations or community partners in Hawaii to support community engagement translation of research into social impact.
