Job Description

Entry Level Materials Management & Transportation Manager

Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Entry Level Materials Management & Transportation Manager (Level K) to join our dynamic team in either Tukwila or Everett Washington.

This position will encompass management of Supply Chain Management Analysts Materials Management Specialist for both production parts and materials as well as Tool Services.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads a team of hourly Materials Management Specialists marshal resources across the Supply Chain to include salaried Supply Chain Management Analysts
  • Partners with Boeing Commercial Airplane (BCA) Supply Chain Fulfillment MSC&O Transportation Warehousing & Logistics and GXO Logistics in a fast pace high energy environment while leading an Injury & Incident Free team culture that also maintains compliance to FAR/DFAR contracted business systems audited by the DCAA/DCMA with additional SOx controls
  • Manages and integrates employee activities across more than one area in materials management and transportation
  • Develops and executes project and process plans implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes; leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers stakeholders peers partners and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of functional approaches products and processes
  • Manages develops and motivates employees

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position is for 2nd shift.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (An Interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post Start is required.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • More than 1 year of experience with process improvement and lean manufacturing
  • More than 1 year of experience leading teams and team development

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Supply Chain Management or a related field
  • Experience in Materials Management or Supply Chain Management
  • Experience working with collective bargaining agreements and/or a union-represented workforce
  • Experience using Incident Injury Free concepts or Behavior Base Safety concepts
  • Experience and/or training on FAR and DFARS compliance

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master4 years related work experience 10 years related work experience etc.)

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.
