Summary:
This position will provide support to the Operational and Transformational needs of the organization and must be able to work effectively with all levels of customer and peer groups requiring skill sets in communication presentation facilitation and relationship management. The analyst will conduct discovery and intake activities elicit information develop recommendations and plans for improvement opportunities. This position will work closely with the assigned business areas to document processes and re-engineer the process for improvement and department efficiencies. They will be responsible for identifying problems and improvement initiatives and owning requirements elicitation and documentation work. Conduct intake and requirements activities working with IT platform Product Owners to assist with creation and organization of story work and sprint alignment. Analysts will also be responsible for the collaboration and syncing of requirement efforts for cross IT Platform work. Assist with developing Process SOP techniques and team development as well as be a change agent for a Process Center of Excellence and the Analysis Services our team provides. Process Engineers and analysts at all levels will be Subject Matter Experts in their assigned business areas and its supporting tools and platforms. They will work with Product Managers/ Owners and platform teams to stay in alignment with operational roadmaps and prioritized work initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for working in collaboration with the customer to establish a clear scope of work to collect requirements and to ensure that there are clear goals objectives resources and delivery milestones
Establishes regular reports and metrics to monitor progress to goals and identify gaps
Remains agile and focused on optimizing business processes and operations to continually improve on performance delivery
Requirements gathering process working with customers and end users to gather understand and define business and functional requirements
Translate business needs into clear actionable technical and system requirements in collaboration with Product Owners. Technical and system requirements are owned by Product Owners. This position would work closely with Product Owners to assist with this work
Document requirements in either Agile or Waterfall methodologies as needed
Assist with the development of features user stories and tasks in Azure DevOps to support the design and development of solutions
Serve as an advocate for the student and identify opportunities to improve the user experience
Defining and analyzing issues to be resolved. Consulting with team members and advising partners as to potential improvement initiatives
Designing implementing and continually improving processes continual service improvement
Problem Statement Business Case development. Helping the management and other teams draw business goals and needs
Technical writing
Documenting all process related artifacts to the required standard operating procedures. Establishes implements and manages processes and procedures including change control to operational processes
Defining and advisement on future state. Documenting current state future state and gap analysis activities
Monitoring stakeholder and partner satisfaction and driving improvements. Employee empathy activities and mapping to ensure customer satisfaction and true knowledge of customer needs. Ensures a quality end-to-end customer experience elevating issues as needed to appropriate senior leaders and ensuring forward progress
Championing change leading initiatives through intake and discovery phases
Ability to convert information into insight interpreting gathered information
Reporting and presenting to department leaders customers and team members
Finding patterns and trends in the analyzed information
Process engineering process improvement documentation maintenance and upholding established process standards
Interpersonal skills in developing positive working relationships and partnerships with other employees and customers. Excellent relationship management skills
Present options to customer evaluating the pros and cons of options while considering the preference to configure versus customize
Participate in daily scrum stand-ups project and team meetings
Participate in Agile development sprint planning meetings as assigned
Assist in the standardization of the business analysis approach standards and expectations across UMGC platform teams
Understand the assigned and related technologies IT Platforms and integrations
Perform related work as assigned or required.
Skills:
Understanding and experience in Scaled Agile methodology
Baseline understanding of Waterfall and other methodologies
Detail-oriented self-starter who thrives on solving problems and delivering innovative solutions to customers
Exercises sound judgment with respect to the relative importance priorities time allocation and resource requirements
A commitment to becoming proficient in partner and technology applications that support key customer deployments
Interpersonal skills as a collaborator and communicator with stakeholders
Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced constantly changing environment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good knowledge of various IT and organizational frameworks methodologies and analysis techniques

Education & Experience Requirements:
Experience:
3 years of relevant professional experience writing formal business/functional requirements and user stories utilizing requirements tools (Azure DevOps JIRA etc.)
Preference of experience in higher education
3 years leading/facilitating/participating in requirements analysis for Agile and Waterfall initiatives
3 years of BPR or Analysis experience working in a technology professional servicesproduct or consulting environment. Experience working in customer-facing roles is a must.
