Job Description

The job purpose is to:

  • To manage organise and co-ordinate the physiotherapy service of the National Heart & Lung Transplant service.
  • To work closely and collaboratively with other transplant team members to further develop the service.
  • To provide physiotherapy leadership within the multi-disciplinary team and within the Physiotherapy Department.
  • To work in an advisory capacity and as a central resource to therapy medical directorates regional or national agencies as required.
  • To be an integral members of the transplant team and to establish close collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • To undertake and facilitate relevant research in the clinical area in line with hospital policies and to present and publish research outcomes.
  • To provide service in accordance with the mission values and strategic plan of the MMUH.
  • To map future physiotherapy service developments for patients in the transplant service.
  • Implementation of the Cystic Fibrosis and Lung Transplantation in Adults Model of Care from consideration for lung transplantation through to post transplantation care.
