The Team:
Cognex is seeking a motivated individual looking to grow their career within Cognex. The Global Finance team has a center of excellence for the European Region located in Cork Ireland. This position will work closely with Finance colleagues in Europe US and Asia as well as the tax team based in the U.S. corporate headquarters.
The Role:
The Tax Manager will be an integral part of the finance organization and will partner closely with the business on a wide range of tax matters. This position will be responsible for corporate income and indirect taxation compliance accurate quarterly reporting transfer pricing analysis special projects implementation and tax technology innovations. As a well-rounded tax professional your role will provide insightful and practical advice to help the business and senior management make strategic and tactical decisions for our company.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and assist with EMEA and APAC global transfer pricing documentation compliance and implementation of transfer pricing policies. (approximately 20% of time)
Perform quarterly forecast and year-end tax accounting computations for EMEA and APAC regions. (approximately 25% of time)
Lead and assist with EMEA and APAC direct tax compliance and support indirect tax compliance. (approximately 30% of time)
Manage special projects including tax planning M&A and corporate initiatives. (approximately 20% of time)
Manage and support tax audits. (approximately 15% of time)
Qualifications Minimum education and work experience required:
Bachelor Degree in Tax Accounting Finance or a related field; Chartered Tax Advisor and/or Qualified accountant preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of related experience
Multinational / US-based corporation experience preferred.
Strong technical accounting skills including proficiency in US GAAP is preferred.
Exposure to international tax issues and transfer pricing required.
Strong communication and presentation skills. Must be able to convey complex technical information to all levels of the organization in a clear and concise manner.
Superior attention to detail and ability to highlight unexpected results.
Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities within deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required. Experience with Thomson Reuters OneSource Provision software and SAP is of advantage.
Outstanding analytical skills including ability to understand and evaluate complex tax principles.
Strong collaboration and partnership skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
