Supplier Quality Readiness Specialist

Job Title: Supplier Quality Readiness Specialist

Position Overview

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Readiness Specialists to join our Prevention and Work Movement team in the UK.

The primary function of this role will be to perform Work Movement Risk Mitigation activities across the region to ensure suppliers start production of Boeing product in compliance to all applicable requirements.

Our team members enjoy and meet the challenges of working remotely with requirements to travel up to 50% of the time to different supplier locations in the region we recognize and appreciate the autonomy trust and judgment granted to them to ensure the oversight of our suppliers.

Position Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will perform the following duties:

Plans and conducts Work Movement Risk Mitigation activities which include but are not limited to Quality Requirements Reviews Requirements Consumption Reviews Boeing First Article Inspections Source Inspection review of suppliers First Article Inspection reports.

Plans and conducts surveillance and oversight to Suppliers Work Transfer processes.

Ensures suppliers have proper processes in place to assess and mitigate/eliminate quality risks associated with Work Transfer movements

Assists with assessments of supplier capability and capacity to perform current or potential future work.

Documents and reports audit and assessment results in coordination with Regional Operations Supplier Quality Representatives for any assessments performed.

Ensures supplier notifications of quality escapes are processed as required; evaluates supplier Root Cause Analysis and proposed corrective action plans (RCCA) where these affect part numbers subject to IPPSV control.

Monitors quality improvement initiatives at suppliers; develops training materials and other resources to support improvements in supplier performance and productivity

Report suppliers quality risks and opportunities to leadership.

This is an on-site position that requires frequent travel to suppliers locations. Location of work is at the hiring teams discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

5 years of Aerospace industry experience in a Quality Production and or Engineering role.

5 years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings blueprints schematics specifications and GD&T

5 years of experience interfacing with suppliers (Supplier Quality)

5 years of experience monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements

5 years of experience with working root cause and corrective action analysis and implementation of acceptable preventative action

Able to travel up to 50% of the time

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

10 years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Bachelor degree in Mechanical Aerospace or related Engineering field.

Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of an organization

Knowledge of assembly and production processes manufacturing capabilities (e.g. structures systems composites etc.)

Working experience with AS9100 Series standard (AS9102 AS9138 AS9145 etc.)

Strong affinity for coaching and mentoring suppliers on products/process requirement from engineering and specifications

Strong supplier quality development background

Lean or lean six sigma experience (leading or co-leading teams with value stream mapping and shop floor standard work events)

Working knowledge of various quality tools and processes such as APQP FMEA control plans SPC FAI RCCA

Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel Word PowerPoint)

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK. Candidates must have current legal authorization to work immediately in the United Kingdom. Boeing will not attempt to obtain Immigration and labour sponsorship for any applicants. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
