Position Summary
The Assistant Director for Student Staff Recruitment and Selection is responsible for developing a comprehensive plan for student staff employment opportunities for all student staff positions in Residential Education. The Assistant Director implements a comprehensive selection plan in collaboration with the departments Human Resources Consultant to ensure all student selection processes are in compliance with university policy and meet departmental staffing needs. This position chairs high volume department recruitment selection and employment committees to ensure every student staff position is filled for the academic year and summer sessions 1 and 2. This position is directly responsible for developing a marketing plan for recruitment managing the accountability and evaluation process for student staff and evaluating the selection processes. This position will initiate student terminations in partnership with the departments HR Consultant and backfill vacant positions as needed. The Assistant Director for Student Staff Recruitment & Selection directly supervises 4 full time Community Directors and is responsible for oversight of approximately 60 undergraduate student employees. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with the diverse populations UNC Chapel Hill serves be committed to student learning and personal growth and have strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The Assistant Director for Student Staff Recruitment and Selection will serve as a member of the Residential Education Leadership Team and serve in the on-call crisis rotation for Carolina Housing. The position reports to the Associate Director for Residential Living.

Preferred Qualifications Competencies And Experience
A Masters degree in College Student Personnel Higher Education Administration or College Student Development or related degree and at least four (4) years of professional full-time Higher Education experience. Live on residence life experience.
