CNC Technician

The CNC Set-Up Technician must beable to troubleshoot and repair technical issues and problems withallCNCequipment. This role requires the ability to createmanage optimizeandmaintainCNCprogramfilesinG-codeandMazatrolsoftwareformillsandlathes. The CNC Set-Up Technician works closely with Manufacturing Engineering and is involved in prototype part machining and creation.

Key Position Responsibilities:

• Program mills and lathes by entering instructions including zero and reference points; setting tool registers offsets compensation and conditional switches; calculating requirements including basic math geometry and trigonometry; proving part program.
• Set-Up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three-and four-jaw chucks tools attachments collets bushings cams gears stops and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads
• Measure and evaluate parts using precision measuring devices including calipers micrometers and gauges
• Load feed mechanism by lifting stock into position
• Verify settings by measuring positions first-run part and sample workpieces adhering to international standards
• Read and follow blueprints sketches diagrams
• Maintain specifications by observing drilling grooving and cutting including turning facing knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
• Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturers instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company procedures rules and regulations.
• Demonstrated experience with G-Code programming MasterCam a plus

Key Position Requirements:

• Experience with Haas Okuma and/or Mazak preferred
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience programming set-up and operating CNC Mills and/or CNC Lathes
• Must be able to stand up to 8 hours a day lift
• Must have good attendance
• Must have consistent and reliable means of transportation
• Manufacturing using Lean methodology experience preferred

Physical/visual activities or demands that are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job include standing lifting 40 pounds bending pushing and walking.

Environmental conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job include loud noises from machinery handling chemicals heat and humidity.
