Flexible Shifts & Competitive Pay
- Up to 4 on-call relief shifts per month
- $50 bonus for each 8-hour shift picked up while engaged and waiting
- $20/hour base pay plus a $3/hour overnight differential

What Youll Do as an On-Call Relief Youth Care Advocate at Safe Place:
Current available shifts:
- Sunday: 12:00 AM 8:00 AM
- Monday: 12:00 AM 8:00 AM
Safe Place in an emergency shelter for youth ages 12-20. Youth can access essential services while longer-term housing is found. Staff assists youth with meeting basic needs educational support and helping to find stability.
- Follow the schedule and structure of the Safe Place programs in Hillsboro providing oversight of the facilities to maintain all safety security and licensing standards.
- Supervise and monitor youth whereabouts and safety at all times providing youth supervision in the facility and in the community.
- Ensure youth adhere to specific standards of conduct and appropriate youth interactions. Instruct youth regarding desirable health personal habits and housekeeping duties.
- Promote a culture of responsivity in which youth are empowered to be active participants in the program (e.g. seeking opportunities for individual or group coaching and skill-building maintaining a daily activity schedule to help youth overall development).
- Interact with youth and families in a way that incorporates trauma-informed care harm reduction awareness of the culture of poverty permanency goals and other recognized best practices for runaway and homeless youth programs.
On-Call Responsibilities:
- Be Available: You must be available to work when called with a schedule published monthly.
- Engaged to Wait: You will be compensated for the time you are waiting and for any time you work when called in.
Requirements:
- Two (2) years of experience in a social services mental health or care giving setting working with youth.
- Optional: Bachelors degree in relevant field (social work psychology sociology) and one (1) year relevant experience.
- Must possess a valid drivers license from state of residence (Oregon or Washington) personal automobile liability insurance and pass a DMV driving record check.
- Must meet the driving requirements under the Agency Safe Driving Policy and maintain a good driving record that is eligible for coverage by the agencys current insurance provider.
- You may be asked to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to perform the job safely.
