Job Duties

To enhance the correctional programs of the Commonwealth of Virginia by operating a viable business entity that provides jobs and work skills for sentenced offenders to help them successfully re-enter society and offers quality goods and services to our customers on time and at a fair price.

To provide the human resource management services and support to meet the staffing performance management and employee retention needs of the enterprise the job satisfaction needs of employees and the strategic objective for performance excellence.

If hired by VCE you will start or restart a 12-month probationary period. This is for all New Hires Transfers returning State Employees.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Considerable knowledge and experience with principles and practices of human resource management and related Federal and State Laws and regulations; working knowledge and experience with HR policies and procedures and processes. Must possess excellent interpersonal oral and written communication and training skills. Progressively responsible human resource generalist experience required.

Additional Considerations

Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures and to advice and counsel managers and organizational unit heads; ability to direct and supervise assigned staff; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; and responsible experience leading human resource programs. Significant experience in Microsoft Office applications Cardinal PageUp DocTime. Prefer professional HRM certification (e.g. SHRM-CP/SCP PHR/SPHR certification).
