The Town of Brookline Recreation Department is seeking a Recreation Leader II to coordinate and support the Towns Adult & Community Education classes. This position focuses on scheduling instructor support program logistics and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of adult and community education offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule adult and community education courses workshops and programs.
- Recruit hire and assist instructors with onboarding classroom needs and program delivery.
- Supervise on-site programs during after-school hours evenings vacation weeks and summer sessions.
- Monitor enrollment manage cancellations track budgets process billing and provide updates to instructors and participants.
- Prepare and distribute program materials and supplies.
- Develop basic promotional content for flyers website and social media.
- Coordinate classroom and facility use across Recreation facilities schools and other sites.
- Collect program data and feedback to support evaluation and improvement.
- Provide assistance with other Recreation Department programs and events as needed.
- Performs all other duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Education Recreation Management Leisure Services or related field.
- 13 years of relevant experience in program coordination adult education or community programming.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Valid Massachusetts Drivers License (Class D).
- CPR and First Aid certification required (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with instructors participants and community partners.
- Comfortable working evenings weekends and school vacation weeks.
