Job Description

JOB TITLE: Components Engineer - DEFENSE
LOCATION: Westford MA
PAY RATE: $85/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

  • Clearance: Active Secret Clearance preferred (inactive acceptable). Interim Secret required to start

  • Work Schedule: Hybrid role 3 days on-site with up to 1 remote day per week. Start date may be accelerated if selected early.

Qualifying Questions:

  • Are you a U.S. person as defined under ITAR regulations

  • Do you meet the educational and experience requirements for this role

  • Can you commute to the job location or relocate if necessary

Summary:

  • Research component termination styles plastic encapsulation and construction processes

  • Generate Vendor Identification Drawings Source Control Drawings and Altered Item Drawings

  • Lead component part standardization and selection

  • Process change notices in PTC Windchill for Part BOMs and maintain engineering BOMs in compliance with LM processes

  • Develop component qualification test plans and execute part qualifications with test houses

  • Develop component screenings per Parts Management Process (PMP) plan

  • Interface with customers to present part changes and hardware impacts

  • Lead component failure investigations as required

  • Participate in qualifying alternate test houses for part finish mitigations and qualifications

  • Research and assess impacts of PCNs and obsolescence on programs

  • Mentor junior engineers

  • Review parts in Siemens Expedition Library for approvals per PMP guidelines

Requirements:

  • Active Secret Clearance preferred (inactive acceptable). Interim Secret required to start

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology

  • Experience in Component Engineering

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

Desired Skills:

  • 6 years experience with PTC Windchill for BOM maintenance

  • 6 years experience with Siemens Expedition Cockpit

  • 6 years experience with RF component selection

  • 6 years experience in part qualification and failure analysis

  • Strong knowledge of military and automotive electronics standards
