Job Description

Job Summary:

This role is for an Ultrasound Technician in a 139-bed community hospital. The technician will perform a variety of ultrasound procedures including general abdominal OB/GYN high-risk obstetrics and vascular studies. The position requires experience with pediatric intussusception and appendicitis as well as neonatal/NICU experience. The technician will work 12-hour night shifts (6 PM - 6:30 AM) on Saturdays Sundays and Mondays.
Location: Huntersville North Carolina United States
Responsibilities:
- Performing a wide range of ultrasound examinations including general abdominal OB/GYN high-risk obstetrics renal/pelvis small parts vascular (carotid arterial) Doppler studies peripheral vascular renal artery duplex upper/lower extremity venous and arterial studies and M-Mode.
- Performing pediatric intussusception and appendix ultrasound examinations.
- Performing neonatal/NICU ultrasound examinations.
- Utilizing various ultrasound equipment including Samsung and GE systems.
- Maintaining equipment using Trophon.
- Utilizing electronic health record systems such as EPIC and McKesson.
- Participating in a one-week orientation.
- Adhering to hospital protocols and safety guidelines.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum one year of experience as an Ultrasound Technician.
- Experience in outpatient inpatient ER and community hospital settings.
- Proficiency in PACS portables GE and Trophon systems.
- Experience with EPIC and McKesson systems.
- BLS certification.
- Experience with pediatric intussusception and appendix and neonatal/NICU.
- Ability to perform various ultrasound procedures (as listed above).
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with paracentesis and thoracentesis.
- RDMS-AB or RDMS-OB certification.
- RVT certification.
Special Considerations:
- 12-hour night shifts (6 PM - 6:30 AM) on Saturdays Sundays and Mondays.
- No on-call or float requirements.
- Work in a 139-bed community hospital with a full-service ultrasound department performing approximately 40 procedures daily.
- 24/7 transport is available.
- Royal blue scrubs required.
Scheduling:
- 12-hour night shifts (6 PM - 6:30 AM).
- Scheduled to work Saturdays Sundays and Mondays.
- No on-call or float requirements.
