Job Description

Job Summary:

This role is for a Polysomnographer responsible for conducting sleep studies scoring data and collaborating with healthcare professionals to diagnose and treat sleep disorders. The position requires proficiency in various sleep study techniques and equipment along with strong patient interaction and communication skills. Experience with specific sleep study software and electronic medical records is necessary.
Location: Potsdam New York United States
Responsibilities:
- Conducting polysomnographic studies using various techniques (e.g. full-face nasal mask nasal pillow).
- Applying and monitoring equipment such as EEG ECG EMG and respiratory sensors.
- Scoring sleep studies according to established guidelines.
- Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to interpret results and develop treatment plans.
- Educating patients on sleep hygiene and study procedures.
- Maintaining infection control protocols.
- Performing independent lab work.
- Utilizing Pyxis and Epic systems.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Polysomnographer.
- Proficiency in polysomnography techniques (Independent Lab Sleep Polysomnography Alice software).
- Experience with various sleep study equipment (Full Face Nasal Mask Nasal Pillow ECG EEG End-Tidal CO2 O2 Saturation Periodic Limb Movement (PLM) PSG Respiratory Inductance Plethysmography (RIP)).
- Ability to score PSG data identifying sleep stages respiratory events and other relevant parameters.
- BLS certification.
- RPSGT certification.
- Experience with Pyxis and Epic systems.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with a 4-bed sleep lab.

Special Considerations:
- Every other weekend requirement.
- 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week.
- 1-2 nights of orientation provided.
- Scrubs not required.
- Must be located >50 miles from the facility.

Scheduling:
- Three 12-hour night shifts per week.
- Every other weekend work required.
